I´m struggling with deciding which media to use (I´m new in this cell culture field). Rigth now i have MEM and DMEM media on the lab, but i´ve seen that in some articles they use specific media for every single cell line.
Is it crucial to always choose a specific media for every cell line or could you use the same media for several cell lines?
I will work with several breast cancer cell lines with different classification and antiandrogens. Any advice?

I always used DMEM-F12 medium to MCF-7, MDAMB231 and T47 breast cancer cell lines, with 10% SFB of course, but if depends on the requirements of the cell, i have worked with other cancer cell lines (other tissues) and It needs other types of medium, so i think it always depends, buuuut i think DMEM have more glucose and other components if you compared with MEM ...
I recomend that you guide for the ATCC suggestions

I have used DMEM supplemented with 10% FBS for MCF-7 cells. It had grown well.Use can DMEM-F12 medium also, it is just a variant of DMEM.

I have used DMEM (High glucose) supplemented with 10% FBS and 5 µg/ml insulin for Breast cancer cell line BT-474. DMEM have worked fine with other cell lines too in our lab including Hep2 and L-929.

We used D-MEM (high glucose), 10% fetal bovine serum (FBS), 0.1 mM MEM NonEssential with MDA-MB-231/RFP Cell Line
