As far as I know, SDS-PAGE separates peptides by the molecular weight variation and the longer a peptide is, the slower it migrates. However, I've read a lot of paper which  demonstrated long Aβ-peptides (Aβ1-40) migrate faster than the short ones (Aβ1-40) without any explanation. Does anybody have some ideas ?
