In my mind, reverse transcriptase meets the 5' end of the mRNA, and then a few template-independent bases are randomly introduced, most often three cytosines.

In the illustration, three cytosines were added without the 5' end of the mRNA?

If reverse transcriptase uses "strand displacement" activity to generate single-strand CDNA, and the GGG-primer works as a primer to perform two-strand synthesis (with reverse transcriptase)?
