At work understanding peoples motivations, in my opinion, is key to effective working relationships.
What motivates your employees
What motivates you and what motivates your colleagues and peers.
By understanding this we can build better working relationships and complete tasks more efficiently.
So please list what motivates you?
I lead a team of contributing authors from across the globe. Motivation is providing important project information, being accessible, maintaining communication, and making the process of writing//editing as smooth as possible. Sometimes motivation can be just letting the author make headway themselves. Personally, I believe when an author muddles through the info they get the most out of it. If they use the info to critique their own subject matter info, they also make a better paper. I like to be left alone in the preliminary stages of my writing. Let me sort it out! In the same way I also like to stop answering questions and let them answer it themselves at some point, unless they are really stuck. When I receive a document to review I get highly motivated! I like to express that excitement to the contributing author who is sometimes apprehensive to submit a working draft for review. But believe me, I love to see the submissions start to roll in and then I can relax a bit on the projects that I may be contributing as I see this movement from other authors/researchers.
Employees motivation are loyalty to their organizational goals and objectives, incentives in form of appreciation, bonuses, promotion, certificates; good source of livelihood...
The work itself should be a prime motivator. Because there is no point in doing something that you don't like. So it is the work or the nature of work that you do
Different people pursue different goals because they are pushed into action by mysterious forces both from within and without. My motivation at work is based on accountability. I would like to perform my duties conscientiously because I want to help my students attain the expected outcomes successfully. Consequently, what really motivates me is reflected in a wise adage by Les Brown who states, “Accept responsibility for your life. Know that it is you who will get you where you want to go, no one else.”
Dedication and passion towards the chosen profession is the greatest driving force which motivate me to work.
What motivates you at work?
Think it depends on which level of needs a person is in e.g. basic needs (salary), security needs (job security), social needs (peers / friendship), self-esteem needs or self actualization needs etc. For me is the self-esteem needs that drive my working behavior as ICT is ever changing line that requires me continuously to learn, apply & deliver with quality of services.
Students, I have to learn them,
it's my first responsibility as a teacher. Serving others and make things as administrator. Ambition as a researcher.
Professionalism, intellectual curiosity and love of the things we do : to study, search, create knowledge and dissemination for a greater use. In this case, the motivation, although conceived extrinsically, but strengthened and ironed intrinsically so that our intellectual energy and power of imagination are in full use.
The desire to excel in what I do and to finish up and publish results in a timely manner so that I can proceed to the next project.
From my perspective, when I have someone working for me it’s important to understand what motivates them, not only that but what are their expections within the role. If I can understand this I can work towards helping them achieve these expections. Therefore therefore keeping them motivated.
Likewise, with colleagues from within other departments, I can’t necassary ask directly, what motivates them and what are their expections (ok, in some cases I might) but it’s important to build rapport and through building rapport understand their motivations and expections, again so I can attempt to meet them whilst also achieving my own objectives within a wider team.
Learning new things is my driving force . For this reason I like conducting research.
Here's how I motivate...some of them are:
Mindset, accountability, hope, clear goal and believe.
Good answers to the question 'what motivates you?'
meeting deadlines, targets or goals.
mentoring and coaching others.
learning new things.
coming up with creative ideas to improve something, or make something new.
analysing complex data in order to draw clear and simple conclusions.
working well as part of a team.
Appreciate the effort they make at work, and work as a single family that loves each other and respects each other .

and Khaled Muftah ElsherifAlot of striving for achievement but I think M.D. Abdur Rashid is correct theres a strive to implement innovation. This can be a big motivator especially if this innovation is creating jobs, saving money, benefits employees well being.
Because I am more than 50 years old, I will be motivated if the work gives me pleasure...
In addition, I am also motivated to work if the job does not have a short time limit.
Area should be of my intrest, surrounding and environment full of positive attitude,good and healthy brain storming on problems,active participation in all type of work, for good work appreciation and for getting from wrong to right work proper guidence, full faith by senior faculty and authority
Motivation to do work is creating interest for the job with love. If one has been given a work, the entire person's focus should be on the job. The commitment, interest and love to do the work make onself motivated.
I look for opportunities to improve my scientific skills and this is motivate me at work.

1/ to have found something new,
2/ to communicate this to others
3/ to be finished as quickly as possible, because I always need a very long time to say in a project: it is finally finished.
I am getting a charming pay for my job, so I have to do it with utmost care and hard work (it is only one of the reason among many reasons to stay motivated at work).
Healthy friendly work environment and supportive colleagues and administration.
The effort of time and effort is very often for nothing, unfortunately. The interest of most of my colleagues, including the renewable science generation in my home country, is zero. So you often ask yourself: why are you doing this?
Good environment and healthy atmosphere, competent people working together, encouraging attitude and incentives for work are the ways one motivates at work.

Motivation within me stems from wanting to make a difference, it doesn't have to be visible or tangible. just a good days work, from making a process running efficiently, to improving someone else's self worth. Getting up, feeling glad to be alive and attacking the day. A firm believer, it will all work out in the end !!
