Prepare a good c.v. keep your publications handy. Highlight your contributions such as books written, etc. Give a good introduction.....The jobs is yours.
Research the company well. These days with every company having all the information on the website it is well worth going through the web pages and committing certain salient features of the company to memory. Have copies of resume/CV ready as well as list of publications. Bring reprints of your publications to show the interviewer if necessary. Dress appropriately. Make eye contact with the interviewer. Ask some questions at the end to show your interest in the company. You have to sell yourself and your strengths so that you can convince the employer why they should choose you over many others that they have interviewed. After the interview send a thank you letter summarizing how your skills and background match the company's needs in a mutually beneficial manner.
Prepare well, be full of required confidence, dress well and pray for luck.

From an interviewee point of view, take a long breath before you inter for interviewing, be well-behaving, smart-looking, collect enough prior information about the nature of the new job before you go to interview (because knowledge is power) and finally, be yourself with light smile.
From an interviewer point of view, check up the motivation of the interviewee to get the job because it is important thing to built good staff, and listen well to his/ her body-language to notice the expressions, and what justifications he/ she would give through answering your questions.

Look for information about the interviewer and the place you are applying for. It shows that you care and really interested in the place. This is actually very common question to be asked by the interviewer and you should be prepared!
Self-confidence, good behaviour and mannerism, dress well-up, research on the applied job and good overnight sleep are all positives to prepare for an interview.
Besides publications, how you can contribute to the job applied and your skills will add to the edge. Be respectful and count your blessings.
