All the protocols I've found for the cells suggest simply MEM+10% FBS, no supplement needed.

I'd really be interested to hear if anyone else has any suggestions

I routinely use the medium DMEM-HG, 10% FBS, antibiotic mix. I never heard to add supplements to this line.
