I have tested my glioblastoma U87 cancer cell lines for cancer stem cell markers. I wish to see a way other than stem cell marker expression, the potency of my cells.
there is, to my knowledge, no simple functional analysis for testing the potency of a cancer stem cell. You will need to establish glioma sphere cultures and test the potential to initiate tumour growth in an orthotopic mouse model of glioma.
Did you find stem cell marker expression? Glioblastoma cell lines not necessarily represent cancer stem cells.
Thank you for your message. I was able to transform GBM cell lines with stressful conditions and I was able to generate a SSEA4 (pluripotent markers). I am doing preliminary analysis which must be cost sufficient and so I do not have the funding for mouse models.
