Does anybody know how to check if a new SNP is on ANY chip? I am looking for experiments in which a specfific SNP has been evaluated.
On a commercial chip? You would have to search the information at each commercial supplier's web site - they don't collaborate on putting all their proprietary array information on a single common site. Is this SNP in the SNP database at NCBI or any organism specific web site?
Bottom line is you'll need to spend some time searching various public and commercial web sites to see if it shows up on any of them.
I agree with michael...what you can do is first search for your SNP's chormosomal location in NCBI and see if it has been identified by someone related to your gene of interest. Then you can search for that gene specific SNP in various commercial chips if they are present in the market. Ulitmately you will have to contact the chip provider for complete SNP list, if they have any chips for your organism. I have experience that they will not provide information until you assure them that you will buy their chip or your insititution has prior dealing with the company. Anyway its hard to know if your particular SNP is being used by someone unless your search for literature...check if some other other scientist has reported it in research elsewhere..

Yes, it's a dbsnp SNP.
If you search your SNP in Ensembl, it will give you the arrays in which it's included. Obviously, these chips must have been already commercialized already.
