I have observed fungal contamination in my used empty culture flask (after trypisinization) when incubated in CO2 incubator (dedicated for cell culture). However I haven't seen any problems in my regular culturing flask. Should I continue my culture or should I discard the same to avoid further spreading of the contamination? I have attached image of fungal contamination in the flask.
Deepa! I do not see any contamination . It's just a crystallization of the used bottle. A pretty picture. Good luck! :))

I too agree with Natalia. Those are likely crystals of salts. You can re-dissolve them in ddH2O to be sure.
Hi Deepa..I didn't find any fungal contamination in your picture. You can continue with your old culture to carry on your experiments.

By the way, even if you had contamination, I wouldn't advice you to throw out an apparently healthy culture that is valuable to you, just watch it carefully (after all, you could have very well contaminated the empty bottle only, after the transfer).

Anyway, if u get contamination u should discard the contaminated one not the good ones. Carefully observe the good ones for any sign of contamination.
These are just crystals. If they would have been fungal contamination , then by the end of 48 hrs you would have noticed increase in the mass.
But i must say the picture is very clear.
i also attain same problem in my lab. How to remove that crystals?.
Ahh yeah I agree too. These are the salt-water crystals. We get it when we use reconstituted powder-media adding soda bicarb from outside. Not a problem! Cheers :)
