The only answer is: certainly not. Remember, it's a cell line only. Whereas, the actual breast tissue is a gaming arena of many different cells and tissues. The cell line would only give an insight of possible associations or underlying mechanisms, if any, in actual breast tissue.

If you identified a gene in cell line then you have to evaluate this work in-Vivo, that mean you have to check whether this gene is existed or not. Same thing will follow regarding gene expression.

In breast caner there has been a lot of work showing that global gene expression profiles of cultured tumor cells closely mimics the gene expression patterns seen in primary tumors. Check out the work of Chuck Perou and many others.

I suppose it is not surprising that cell lines derived from tumors would have a similar gene expression profile given that the cell lines are by their nature immortalized and no investigator intervention is needed to induce immortalization as it is for proliferation-limited primary cells derived from normal tissue. However, there are two phenomenon that I observed in primary cells which have been imortalized to establish cell lines. This is work I've done with human corneal endothelial cells, but as it is dealing with changes in gene expression possibly induced by both culturing conditions and immortalization I think they are worth considering for your research).
1. Gene expression status (i.e., expressed versus not expressed):
I have observed that culturing conditions have an impact on the expression status of genes. In my case, I established a set of corneal endothelial-specific genes (about 138 of them) and noted that only about 70% remained expressed in primary cells. Furthermore, only about 30-40% were expressed in immortalized corneal endothelial cell lines. Clearly, culturing conditions and immortalization have a huge impact on this gene expression, the latter appearing to be more influential. In addition, in all of the cultured cells de novo gene expression was observed from 12-24%. As such, it is also important to consider, which genes are now being expressed in cultured cells where they were not being expressed in cells in the tissue.
2. Gene expression changes (i.e., expressed in both groups, but at differing amounts)
We investigated a set of genes that have been the focus of corneal endothelial cell biologist for over a decade now, and we observed large changes in gene expression in the cultured endothelial cells, sometimes to the tune of >>10 fold difference in gene expression. The impact of this large difference must be considered. As you are probably well aware, the mere presence of a transcript does not a cell function make. As such, it is important also to consider the amount of a transcript (or more significantly, a protein). So, even though the gene expression profiles are similar between the cultured cells and the cells taken fresh from tissue, it is important to consider the differences in abundance of transcript between these two groups. Acknowledging this could potentially lead to some very interesting findings regarding the mechanisms surrounding the biological etiology of breast cancer.

Charles Perou at North Carolina has done gene expression profiling of a number of breast cancer cell lines that could be useful as you go forward.
the answer to this question in my opinion is no...but the experiment with the cancer cell line could be useful initially to be translate in animal models then
Three basic concepts should be considered when you work in the field of oncology:
1. Inetra-individual variations "tumor heterogeneity": Inside the same body of a patient you can find the same tumor cells respond differently.
2. Inter-individual variations: Each patient responds differently based on the genetic background, race, ethnicity, other socio-economic or environmental factors.
3. In vitro study is a model, of course limited, in which you have only one variable, one type of cells and no cell-cell interaction no hormone or micro-environment are counted.
Although this model is limited but it is very helpful to use it as a toll for testing your hypothesis first and then move on, with courage, to the second level such as in vivo model.
It's been known that about thousands of drugs shown a very promising anti-tumor activity but less than hundred been tested in FDA for their approval for human clinical trials!
