Many sources refers to epimutations as hereditary; but what if mutation just affect somatic cells (progenitor cells etc.) It shouldnt be heritable in this way.

that alters gene expression activity and may me hereditary if the pattern is set at the germ cell level . In various disease , most often cancer, thousands of such changes occur in the genome and are transmitted to daughter cells.
