Taqman is better than the SYBR green. SYBR green has a binding affinity in a minor groove, it is a problem for micro-RNA. 

Taqman works better.

For "detecting microRNA", I've used both the Taqman technology from LifeTech/Thermo as well as SYBR Green with LNA primers from Exiqon. Both technologies have pros and cons. As far as "best" method it depends on the amount of starting material and what your end goal is. 

Taqman probes are show higher specificity. But I've used SYBER as well with good results.
