Agree, you can induce the resistance if you have some time (several months), by exposing the cells to increasing concentrations of the drug and regrowing the survived cells. It is a long protocol. You could find useful answers here:

Some researchers suggest you can start with IC90, others suggest this won't mimic resistance in clinical practice. So it depends on your aim.
