I have to study apoptosis inducing effect of certain drugs (in HCT-15 cells) which have been reported for interactions with integrins. Currently I have little knowledge about the presence of integrin αVß3 in selected cells line. Can anyone help me in this regard by providing reliable references. I'll be grateful.
There are lot of reports using the breast cancer cell lines and human samples as compared with colon cancer. Both tumors exhibit collective cell migration and EMT with increased number of cancer stem cells positive for CD44v8-10 expression, so that I think the following two papers should be evaluated.
I would like to introduce the papers which would be helpful for you...
1. The relationship between connective tissue growth factor (CTGF) and integrin αVß3 in breast cancer cells; CTGF-mediated ERK1/2 phosphorylation ispredominantly located in the nucleus, indicating that CTGFmediated signaling is possibly regulated by ERK1/2-dependent transcriptional regulation, rather than by paxillin-FAK interaction in breast cancer cells. That is why ERK1/2 is activated by CTGF via integrin αVß3 and confers enhanced migratory ability.

2. The contribution of integrin αVß3 to the activation of MMP; Expression of activated integrin αVß3 promotes tumor cell arrest during blood flow and causes a drastic increase in metastatic activity. Intrinsic integrin αVß3 activation strongly increased breast cancer cell migration, involving a mechanism where integrin αVß3 cooperates with metalloproteinase MMP-2 and MMP-9 to maximize tumor cell motility.
