i am currently looking for some protocols to be followed to assess the antifungal activity of a new fungus against a pathogenic fungi. i have no idea what fungi it is. so, i dont know what type of component i am looking for. can somebody suggest me what protocols to be followed to conceive the research ? and it would be so nice if you could also refer me an article to support your statement.

Abstract
Influence of two isolates of the fungus Trichoderma harzianum (one of them commercial and the other local) were compared in laboratory conditions against Botrytis fabae wich causes Chocolate Spot Disease on faba bean plants (Vicia faba).
Results showed that the two isolates have good significant ability to inhibit the studied disease fungus directly or indirectly, the efficacy of the local isolate in the dual culture was significantly beter than the commercial one, because it's inhibiting ability reached 59.5% after 14 days of incubation conditions while it was 4 . % for the commercial one, werease the indirect inhibiting ability in similar conditions reached 36.8%, 34.8% orderly because of the Influence of volatils which were producted of each of the two studied isolates, without any significant differance.

I can suggest you an idea which is good to mention to you a number of publications. Please try to search about the mycoviruses; now mycoviruses could be on of the most recent research convey with the fungus control. The infected (viral resistant but beneficial) could be used to control the non infected (susceptible to viral infection and pathogenic). I expected that this kind of research will reach the sky and will represent a good substation for the chemical synthesized fungicides.
