Can I use U6 primer assay from Qiagen as a standard gene in miRNA detection in chicken samples ? Both are 100 % conserved ?

Also Can I use hsa-miR-155 primer for detection of gga-miR-155 if they are 85 % conserved ?

Hi Mohamed,

If the genes are conserved than there is no species-based reason not to use the assays. however, I recently listed some important reservations about using U6, which were recently confirmed by several leading labs at a conference etc - have a look at:
