I have silly question about why putting HCl salts with the drug.

For example, I have doxorubicin and it says DOX with hcl salt.

wel, I heard that this thing makes DOX better solubility. however, my question is that isn't DOX already soluble in water ?

and if not, why?

and also, why hcl salt???

so let me organized my questions.

1. if DOX is not soluble in water, why?

( I don't see why though, there is carbonyl groups and amine. and amine and carbonyl groups are very soluble in water right? if not why? )

2. why hcl ? the most dangerous thing with the drug? and why they are SALT ??? this is just so weird ...

3. does it effect the pH ?

4. what make them more soluble after putting most dangerous salt ?

I have spent hours and never be able to find good answer for it.
