I need to analyze the interaction/binding of a drug to a protein. Protein overexpression and purification seem to be every expensive. Is there any way I can study protein-drug binding/interaction without purified protein?

In silico docking is suitable for you. You can predict protein-drug interaction with computer based algorithms. Otherwise, you have to spend money.

If the protein has a measurable activity in a crude extract or cell-based assay, then you can test the drug for its effect in that system.

not sure how cost effective this might be, but you could go for drug induced thermal stability assays and check by western blotting how much soluble protein you still have after denaturation see a review below. The technology is CETSA
