Modeling means creating a physical replica or equations of a situation or activity. Quite often architecture construct a small size model of a building to be constructed to show the clients how it would look like and any suggestion the clients want to give. Similarly a physical real life situation can be modeled by a differential equation. For example a simple harmonic motion is represented by a second order equation y" + ay = 0. The motion depends on the boundary conditions and parameter a.
Simulation is a process where you show virtually ( you create virtual scenes ) how a real physical situation would happen. For example, architecture show you walk through of a big building, showing how lift would work, how rooms will behave in different lighting and so on. Simulation is very important to check what would happen if something goes wrong. This helps to improve the behavior of the physical situation. For example, a chemical reaction is normally simulated before it is actually performed to see the effects. A mathematical model of a physical situation is solved to see the effects of different parameters.

from my point of view there is no such difference. Maybe this is the reason why it is mostly called Modeling and Simulation (M&S) :).

I agree with you about that there's difference between the two indicated concept. I'm thankful for your answer and for the examples given. In my view point modelling is an mathematical description of an process, However simulation is an virtual reputation of an process.
Modeling is the abstraction of a real world event or phenomena using equations etc.
Simulation is the repeated experiments done with the model. Here, parameters of the model are varied so as to understand the dynamics of the modeled event/phenomena.
