PES membrane filters can be modified by immobilizing nanoparticles like Al2O3, TiO2, and AgNPs to enhance their antifouling properties and effectively degrade antibiotics through methods such as phase inversion and UV irradiation. These modified membranes are widely applicable in water purification and environmental remediation.
It depends on the properties of the antibiotics. The choice of MNPs to used, its also depend on the method of degradation of the antibiotics, hydrophobic or hydrophilic properties of filter, the photocatalytic, or adsorptive magnetic anathase Fe3O4, Tio2 via chemical coprecipitation, or hybrid deposition, and filtration-assisted deposition method, sol-gel deposition. The developed adsorbent will be optimized for crystallinity, surface area and pore size and volume and possible functionalities using SEM, XRD, TEM,FTIR, XFS, NMR and likes for suitability and compatibility before use.
