I have been using paraffin, but the deposited ZnO still detach from electrode. What is the best binder to modify graphite paste electrode with ZnO nanoparticles?
To improve ZnO nanoparticle adhesion in graphite paste electrodes, consider alternatives to paraffin such as Nafion, chitosan, polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP), polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF), or carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC). These binders have shown better performance with metal oxide nanoparticles in various electrochemical applications, but the optimal choice may depend on your specific system and require experimental testing.
In the graphite-paraffin composition, we used decylbenzenesulfonic acid or polystyrene sulfonic acid to obtain graphite during firing. They were well compatible with the mixture and reduced the viscosity of the graphite-paraffin mixture. Select a concentration starting from 1%.
