Over the last couple of months, we have seen a contamination in our cell line (TR146) every couple of weeks (media is cloudy with white string like clumps), at one point there was a contamination every week. While we are being very cautious at the moment and ensuring everyone's aseptic technique is up to scratch, there still seems to be a bit of an issue, even those with great aseptic techniques seem to be having an issue with cells. Even freshly thawed cells from long before we had any issues with contamination are becoming contaminated. What I have noticed in the past are strange string like artifacts in our flasks. We can't figure out if this is a sign of a contamination or if the cells are now behaving differently to how they used to behave. I've attached some images, anyone have ideas what they could be? Also any advice on what to do about this issue with contamination, any help would be appreciated.
