I´ve seen that some researchers use DHT (Dihydrotestosterone AKA 5α-Androstan-17β-ol-3-one) when performing assays involving antiandrogens while others don´t. Is it really needed or does it depends on whatever we are trying to obtain?

Im searching for resistance mechanisms to antiandrogens in breast cancer.
