Dear all, i am working on composite electrolytic materials. In my material intensity of XRD peak of composite increasing comparive to host. More over to that crysttallite size is decreasing and strain is increasing. Apart from this in SEM images porosity increasing in composites comparitive to host. Can u help me any one with your suggestions. What factors are contributing to increase in intensity of XRD of composites in comparitive to host and how the porasity of composites are effecting. I prepared my samples [ host plus dispersoid mixing by hand milling method in agate mortor with acetone] at room temperature. Currently this paper is under review so that i can't give details of host and dispersoid.
I would assume the presence of a texture. This can lead to an increase in the intensity of several lines, which you just control.
Due to the introduction of reinforcement in the host matrix, the no.of nuclear cites increase. Therefore, the porosity increases in case of composites. However, the porosity level up-to 4% increment in composites as compared to the matrix is acceptable in practical application.
