I'm performing some DAB-enhanced anti-GFAP staining. My primary is polyclonal chicken anti-GFAP (AB5541): The antibody isotype is described as N/A in the SDS.

We have a goat anti-chicken IgY secondary antibody (A16054) I was hoping to use along with it.

Will this bind to my primary, assuming that it (might) be IgG? Or is the region that the secondary binds to on the primary constant across isotypes, so it doesn't matter?

If it doesn't bind, I'm just finding it confusing as to why the manufacturer of the primary didn't state its isotype.

Thank you in advance.
