As mentioned above, I just conducted a batch culture of a mammalian cell line, and I got the daily viable cell density. But I'm a little bit confused about how to define its growth phase from its growth curve. First, should I use the growth curve which plots viable cell density against elapsed culture time to find out its four growth curve? Second, should I use linear scale for Y axis or logarithmic scale for the Y axis (since there's a growth phase called exponential or logarithmic growth phase, but I've seen many papers just used linear scale).  Third, how to know that when the lag phase ends or when the stationary phase). So basically I'm asking how can I clearly find the boundary of differerent growth phase?
