I am Trying to model the flow of coaxial co flowing air atomized mist jet using Eulerian approach in ANSYS Fluent.whenever i try to run the VOF equation a patch velocity patch appears that lead to the divergence ....even with under relaxation factor reduced to 1e-6. the velocity of gas jet is around 170 m/s and the velocity of water is 0.005 m/s.
is it possible to model it or am i wasting my time....

Why do you use the VOF model for solving this problem. I think Eulerian model is more conventional for it? You have compressible flow.

I am using eulerian multiphase model neither VOF nor Mixture.
The VOF we are Talking About is in the Solution Control where four equations are present ie Flow,VOF,Turbulence,And Energy....
there it diverges when the Equation is activated.
The VOF model will only let you resolve the interfaces a few droplets. Did you try Gerris?
I agree with the other comments. If you have a large number of droplets the best choice is the Eulerian-Eulerian Two-Fluid Model where the interfaces are averaged out.

with some modification i am able to run the simulations but my grid test is still incomplete as i increase number of mesh the results improve but convergence behavior deteriorates.
