I need a huge population of adherent PC9 cells, an human cancer cell line. At the moment I'm growing them in several T175 flasks. To reduce the number of bottles, I'm thinking of using a different technique such as rolling bottles or adding particles on which the cells can grow to increase the surface they can attach to. Does anyone have any experience on this?

I personally never used these flasks, but they should be optimal for your purpose.

You can try roller bottles, but I wouldn't recommend it as T-flask adherent cells rarely like to grow in them. Also the set up for roller bottles is expensive as you need equipment to keep the rotation going. I would try Corning multi-flasks or Hyperflasks, the one listed above is a fairly good one to start with. The truth is that each cell line grows differently, so you must test and optimize yourself. Also, the best way to grow lots of cells quickly is a bioreactor, however they are expensive and complicated to run. If you don't have expertise in cell culture bioreactors, stick to the flasks above as they are easier and cheaper to use.
