I am simulating a masonry wall under in-plane cyclic loading. Before the cyclic load is applied, it must be loaded with gravity direction surcharge load (or pre-compression).
However, whenever I apply vertical pre-compression before cyclic loading, the program automatically changes to "Auto-time stepping" for Cyclic load and divides the Time to very small substeps (instead of input 1 second substeps) . This takes hours and hours to proceed and I have not been able to conclude the analysis after several tries and several hours of waiting.
Is there any way to work around this problem?
