I am simulating interlocking / dry stacked masonry in Abaqus. I am using a friction coefficient of 0.6 for my model as it is stated in the previous research as well as in the base paper. The problem is I don't get validation results with 0.6. It is close with 0.3 friction coefficient. Can anyone please help me out? I think I am making mistake while assigning contact properties. To summarise, I have created self contact between block with CF 0.6, top and bottom plates are connected to reference points through a rigid body constraint, and the contact property in tangential is 0.6 and hard contact assigned. For boundary conditions the top steel plate is allowed in u2 direction and bottom plate is restricted in all directions using displacement / rotations. This is all I have done.
