I am trying to do lipofection. I just want to know how the nucleic acids which are incorporated in to the cell by means of liposomes are transported in to the nucleus.
At this point there isn't really one established mechanism. Viral penetration of the nucleus is a better understood topic (Article Intracellular trafficking of nucleic acids
) but in general plasmids that enter the cytosol can enter the nucleus through intracellular trafficking mechanisms relating to endocytosis. However, most transfections are only transient, and their effects are constrained to the cytoplasm. These transient transfections are far more easy to accomplish (see https://altogen.com/transfection-resource/cell-transfection/) and are more standard in research.
