As IEC6 will die in anaerobic environment, C. perfringens will form spores in aerobic environment, will heat-killing method suitable in this case?

I do some adherence experiments using caco-2 cells. C.perfringens sporulation in culture mediums (BHI for perfringens or DMEM for caco cells) is very low.
Despite spores are heat resistant, temperatures used in heat treatment are enough to kill perfringens spores. Another option is to make your experiments in anaerobiosis, but first you need to adapt cells lines, i do it for caco-2 and i don't see any difference between aerobic or anaerobic conditions in caco/perfringens survival or perfringens sporulation.
