Does anyone know if these RNAse inhibitors are (yeast)cell-permeable?
I was thinking of using them in fission yeast in addition to SuperRNAseIn (Thermo), because the latter does not enter the cells and I am having problems with inactivating RNAses in my ribosome profiling experiments.

The following paper shows that it is efficiently uptaken by S. aureus

But I have no clue about the actual uptake in yeast... You should have a go and see!

I haven't checked the experiment to see whether they could be incorporated in yeast (will do tomorrow), but I have stopped the RNAses with them, and that makes me a very happy man, haha!

As a very late follow-up (more precise than the previous one!), just wanted to say that adding the vanadyl complexes to ice-cool Schizosaccharomyces pombe cells just before lysis with a bead-shaker inhibited almost all RNA degradation. The ribosome profiling worked like a charm afterwards.
