Viroids are non-coding, single stranded circular RNA molecules. Hence some techniques varies from classifical virology. For examples, in order to detect their circular nature of the RNA moecules, need to analyse RNA molecules under 2 dimension -polyacrylamide gel electropheresis (2D-PAGE)) or sequential PAGE (s-PAGE).
