Hypersaline environments with salt concentrations up to NaCl saturation are inhabited by a great diversity of microorganisms belonging to the three domains of life.
I agree with Wolfgang Schechinger that I think you are just seeing an artifact of the plating. If this were true chemotaxis you would not see individual colonies but your mass of motile cells would be moving to one quadrant. Also whether you see any motility will depend upon the bacterial strain and the plates you use. Some bacteria will only demonstrate motility on very very soft agar where they can swim (E. coli for example) where as other bacteria that can glide might show motility on normal plates.
