I'm trying to obtain MSCs from whole blood PBMCs and from the CD34- fraction of umbilical cord blood. However, I'm obtaining other types of cells that prevent the MSCs from growing. These cells are rounded and usually do not detach with trypsin. What kind of cells could these be? Is it possible to eliminate them?

Additionally, the elongated cells that I'm obtaining do not seem like MSCs. They have some prolongations, are smaller, and do not divide. If they are not MSCs, what else could they be?

I have attached some photos to illustrate my point.

Thank you in advance for all your help.
