Which is the optimum chemical as substitute for Sodium azide (NaN3)

I needed Sodium azide (NaN3) for my experiment. It has been used for inhibiting the algal degradation of the pollutants prior to analysis. However, it is unavailable right now, and which alternative chemical I can use as its replacement?
