As for media, the most effective are patented and difficult to find out, but  Melin-Norkrans media with some modifications, PDA, different forms of Malt and Yeast extracts are commonly used. For media composition, growth conditions and references you can use the papers attached.

It depends on what you want to do with them. If it is for in lab experiments producing colonies or to cultivate them as producers of proteins.

It depends of the species and also of the insolate. But you can try with MMN, BAF, PACH, MEPA, MFM or in my case I have excellent results with MS (Murashige and Skoog).
