Nevertheless, I think it would be good to use an unsupplemented DMEM (free) that You can integrate supplement with antibiotics and FCS or FBS et cetera. In my opinion, it is always preferable to incorporate fresh and active ingredients in a basal medium (ie DMEM), rather than to utilize an already supplemented medium since times immemorial.....
There are a number of small companies that produce media which are as good as the supplies from the "big companies". I have good experiences with Biochrom for example, but this is a german based company. There are similiar companies in the US I would guess.
Maybe Life Technologies, Invitrogen. I know they produce customized medias.
Life Technologies (Gibco) will produce customized DMEM, the only problem is that you may need to order a minimum amount AND the price will only decrease with the size of the order
