Some authors do testis biopsy in all patients undergoing orchidopesxy but most of them believes that the indication of biopsy is limited according to the patient's age and other comorbidities.
The only indication is a post-pubertal patient in whom the testis must be preserved (bilateral disease, patient preference). Although some propose biopsying all testes at the time of orchidopexy to attempt to make a fertility prognosis the results are very questionable. In addition, there are risk of the biopsy such as removing too much of an infant´s testicle and accidentally injuring the epidydimis.

testicular biopsy is not recommended in prepubertal patients even in bilateral cases while in postpubertal patients is indicated in bilateral intraabdomonal testes or unilateral if has history of contralateral testicular tumor.
