1. Every so often, the culture media for the activated sludge including 3 main elements: C:N:P. Normally, we use glucose as the main carbon source and it is prepared in liquid stock for the convenience purpose. However, many people mentioned that this glucose stock solution need to be sterilized and undergo a filtration. I wonder why need to do so?

2. May I know why sometimes some researcher using K2HPO4 as the P element source while some using KH2P? Meanwhile, for trace element preparation, I read some journal article and I found that some researcher using MgSO4 but some using MgSO4.7H2O and same goes to FeCl3 and FeCl3. 6H2O.

3. What is the reason that some researcher preparing glucose and bacto peptone into one liquid stock while the rest is prepared in the other liquid stock solution. Is it for the prevention of degradation?

Any suggestion for the culture media? Thank you very much.
