Dear all,
Olive oil is usually used as a solvent to dissolve Vitamin E in screening possible anti clastogenic and antianeugenic activity against any positive mutagen routinely.
But since olive oil itself is a potent antioxidant there are many chances that it could be reflected on the results leading to a false positive.
So I am planning to use Ethanol to dissolve Vit-E for my experiments.
For that, knowledge on what particular concentration of ethanol to dissolve Vit-E is permissible (since ethanol is toxic at higher concentrations) is crucial.
Kindly help me out.

Use DMSO.
If DMSO is not working then try to use alcohol as cosolvent along with water. Up to 10 % solution of alchol with water do not produce toxicity.
