Hello,

As a researcher working primarily in the AAV field, I am well aware of the issue with neutralizing antibodies against AAV that prevent re-administration of vector.  I have never heard anyone in the lentivirus field talking about this and I am wondering if the same limitations apply to this vector system.  My questions are:

1) do hosts (animals, people) make antibodies or T cell responses against lentiviral envelope proteins?  If so, do these antibodies limit the efficacy of re-administrated vector?

2) can anyone give me a reference that shows repeated i.v. administration of lentiviruses is safe and effective?

Thanks,

John
