I am planning to measure the the activity of beta galactosidase enzyme using a standard kit to detect glucose production. The kit reagent is a mixture including horseradish peroxidase and cofactors to produce a red color (500 nm) corresponding to the glucose concentration. I would like to mimic the conditions in milk without actually using milk (it's not transparent!). What should I add and how much? Ca? Mg? etc.?
