Greetings to all,

I would like to extract as many lipid components as possible from a vegetable oil. In principle, all polar lipids and as many neutral lipids as possible.

But I need to test this extract in cell culture. So I am limited in my choice of solvent. I think the main solvent component should be the DMSO.

The question is whether Tween 80 can help with the extraction? Will a small amount of ethanol and/or ethanolamine increase the efficiency?

Which is the better approach: pure DMSO (plus other putative components) or water/DMSO mixture?

NB. I don't need to emulsify, I would like to create something as close as possible to the true solution.
