I am working with DNA binding proteins. I need to show that the protein binds with the DNA experimentally. What is a simple method for doing the same with minimum resources available in the laboratory.
Electrophoretic mobility shift assays are frequently used to investigate IF a protein binds to a certain DNA or not.
If you would like to determine binding affinities (and other parameters such as stoichiometry), I would recommend employing MicroScale Thermophoresis. It requires little amount of sample and especially the use of fluorescently labeled DNA is straight forward for your application.
