Among hundreds of Linux distributions, what are the most suitable ones which can be used by a biological science researchers whose workflow is largely based on genomic data science and its analytics (Bioinformatics), scientific manuscript preparation, illustration etc.
Please get basics of genomics/bioinformatics and data analysis as these are not particularly "distribution" specific. The analysis depends on analysis software/workflow/pipeline which are in almost all the cases does not have any relation to the question you are posing.

I can suggest using Ubuntu as Linux (Debian) based OS for bioinformatic workflows since it is quiet popular (for a Linux) and tons of various packages can be installed. Also, it has GUI. Probably, 22.04 LTS is not a best option since it is the most recent update and it is better to use 20.04 or 18.04 LTS.
But as it is already answered, data analysis is not "distribution" specific, so there is no "best distribution for bioinformatics", only the one that is best for you.
Hi! I agree with Ubuntu. However, I would add that a LTS build that you are careful with upgrades is the most useful. Once you get it set up "freeze" it. Just security upgrades. It become tedious after awhile to specify older paths for python and java. Miniconda can be useful and so is docker, but that can become a pain too. Good luck!!
