When looking for a science journal with a good impact factor and low publication costs for a review paper, consider PLOS ONE and PeerJ. PLOS ONE is a reputable open-access journal with a broad scope that covers a wide range of scientific disciplines. It has a moderate impact factor and a relatively lower publication cost compared to many other journals.
PeerJ is another open-access journal that is known for its affordable publication fees and commitment to rapid publication. Both journals have flexible submission guidelines and are recognized for publishing quality research across various fields.
Additionally, journals like Scientific Reports (from Nature Publishing Group) also offer broad coverage and reasonable publication costs, especially if your institution can support part of the open-access fees. It is advisable to check their current submission guidelines and fee structures, as costs and impact factors can change.
I was also thinking that my experience is that an important part of finding the most suitable journal (and having the highest % chance of acceptance) depends on getting it specific to your topic. Your topic as you mentioned is science but I mean is it more to do with biology, chemistry, astronomy or physics? For example, if it is related to biology, is it humans or animals? It can be refined even more: is it about methods in farming or fishing or something else? There are journals for such narrow and specific topics! If you work it out and send it to the most relevant journal, it will give you the highest chance of the paper being accepted.
Thank you for getting back to me. I am a PhD Scholar, Working on Mycobacterium Tuberculosis. If you have any journals relevant to my topic, it would greatly help.
As far as the Publication fee is concerned, I am looking for Journals that are convenient for a student to pay for.
