I'm working on microinjection. I wonder that how would- storage AAV2-Retro if it was not totally over in the pipette? Normally, we storage it in aliquots at -80. The virus I'm using now is left in the pipette. So, should I store it at -80 or -20? If it can be stored at +4, how long can it be stored? Finally, can I store AAV2-Retro with pipette?
All viral vectors are delivered frozen on dry ice and require long-term storage at -80 degrees Celsius.
Storage of AAV at -80C appears to preserve infectious activity for > 10 years. Short-term storage of vectors at -20 or +4 degrees Celsius is possible. Vectors should be aliquoted into single-use parts whenever possible to prevent unnecessary freeze-thaw cycles. To prevent virus loss, please aliquot into tubes with a minimum volume of 10ul and utilize tubes with low protein binding.
Upon delivery, vectors are immediately usable. Before using the virus, dilute it with PBS if necessary. When not ready to use, do not dilute.
