I want to study cytokine gene expression from human blood. What is the best method to study gene expression of cytokine?
Hi,
gene expression can be studied in many ways. Are you going to a mass scale analysis? or single gene.
You have the option of qPCR, microarray etc . depending on what you want to look at, as in what is your question.
Say if you are isolating PBMCs and isolating RNA from them, making cDNAs and looking at specific cytokines in a qPCR, you might get what you want.
You can go through this link, as I suggested you need to isolate RNA and do an RT-PCR.

Later you can confirm the expression at the level of proteins by Western blotting.
